Reivers look to beat the freeze
January 15, 2001

Edinburgh Reivers will install a turf dome on their Netherdale pitch this week to insure that Friday's Heineken Cup game with Northampton does not become a victim of the weather.

The pitch is currently frozen but the installation of Dome, which generates temperatures of up to 35ºC, will ensure that the pitch is playable on Friday evening.

Chief Executive Nick Oswald said: "The forecast for the rest of the week isvery cold with night temperatures of around -5ºC. To ensure that this vitalmatch goes ahead we decided to install a Turf Dome to both protect andslowly unfreeze the pitch."
