February 22, 2001

The draw for the semi-finals of BT Cellnet Cup in Scotland has set up the exciting prospect of an Edinburgh Borders final.

The draw sees Heriot's FP travel to Boroughmuir and Melrose take on the winner of the last quarter final tie between Currie and Hawick.

"It's about the hardest draw we could have had," Fraser Dall, the director of rugby at Heriot's, told The Times. "Boroughmuir are probably playing the best rugby in Scotland at the moment and having to go to Meggetland makes it doubly difficult."

Heriot's, out of the league race see the cup as their only real chance of success but they have already lost twice to Boroughmuir this season. "We have seen the best they can play and they have not seen the best of us," Dall told the newspaper. "I don't think they can get any better, but we can."
