April 18, 2001

Springbok number eight Bobby Skinstad confirmed on Tuesday that he will be part of the Barbarians squad for their three-match international tour next month.

The South African, who has battled back to full fitness after missing almost two full seasons through injury, is one of six big names already committed to the tour.

The Barbarians will face Wales in Cardiff on May 20, then head north to
tackle Scotland four days later before winding up at Twickenham where they
meet the fledgling England side which Clive Woodward will take on the summer
tour to Canada and the United States.

Skinstad's fellow-countryman Gary Teichman will also play, along with
former All Black Josh Kronfeld and Australian David Wilson.

Northampton's European Cup-winning skipper Pat Lam and former England
back-row Ben Clarke are also named.

"To wear the black and white hooped jersey of the Barbarians is one of the
ultimate accolades in the game," said Skinstad."I am very much looking forward to the tour."
