Referees appointed for Lions tests

The international Board has announced the officials for the three tests between the Wallabies and the Lions this summer.

Two of the three tests will be refereed by South Africans, Andre Watson taking charge in Brisbane on June 30 and Jonathan Kaplan in the middle for the second game on July 7 in Melbourne. The following week in Sydney, New Zealander Paddy O'Brien will control the final test.

The IRB have also added three new names to the International panel. Alain Rolland of Ireland, Andy Turner from South Africa and Kevin Deaker of New Zealand will replace Jim Fleming, Clayton Thomas and Ed Morrison who are all retiring.
