Ben Cairns believes consistent form for Edinburgh was the telling factor behind his first Scotland call-up.
The 22-year-old, who has played at full-back and centre for Edinburgh, was one of six uncapped players named in Frank Hadden's 35-man training squad for the He joined Edinburgh colleagues Nick de Luca, Ross Rennie and Calum MacRae, and Glasgow Warriors pair Tom Evans and Moray Low, in the uncapped contingent. Cairns told www.edinburghrugby.org: ``Obviously I'm delighted to be involved. ``I think hopefully my performances throughout the season have led to me getting selected. ``Playing against the likes of Leinster will stand me in good stead when I get the opportunity to join up with the Scotland squad.'' |
