Toulon run the ball from kickoff, a kick from wide results in an awful mistake from the Northampton fullback. Schoolboy error. Scrum to Toulon.

Some slow rucking from Toulon, now they pass to the right. Turnover to Northampton and they boot in down the field, toulon return the favour and Northants bring it over the halfway line.,

Ball flies free in the tackle. Toulon with the feed. Nice kick and chase but they knock it on. Scrum on the Northant's 35 yard line.

First lineout of the game on the Toulon 22. Lovely backline play almost gets the meat pie for Northants, but they drop it in the tackle a couple of yards short.

Long pass from the ruck back into the Northants 22, long and tall kick into Toulon territory. Northants get a penalty for some typically unfathomable rugby reason .

Ugly ruck only results in a scrum to Toulon just off the centre spot. They spin it to the left.

Good tackling from Northants keeps Toulon on the back foot. 4th phase of play now and they've made no distance since the scrum. Whoops-a-daisy, shocking turnover, Boden collects the scraps, sprints through the gap, one pass and there's another 5 points on 15:33.

Deep kick off, ball is returned with distance. A big brute from Toulon with a big brute of a run, but the big dope forgets to release the ball when tackled on his half way. Penalty conceded.

Lineout feed to Northants on the Toulon 22. Shite throw gives Toulon the win against the throw.

Kicked deep, and Northants very keen to run it, they're making yards at will.

good kick along the ground gets the lineout near the Toulon line, and Northants win against the throw, albeit messily.

A scrum to Toulon is the eventual result, but on the other side of the field. Another long kick and Northants tries to maul it on the halfway line.

A turnover, a kick deep, Northants put it high and a lazy attempt at catching it results in a scrum to Northants on the halfway.

Toulon forced back with the scrum, Northants keep it under the second row, Ref gets bored and awards the penalty to them

Long range attempt at goal, and bingo, another expert demonstration of bootwork from the cobblers.

Kick off into the deep, Northants return down the left, quick lineout, but toulon stuff it up and the ball flies free, it's put onto the boot and Toulon force it in-goal

Sum result is yet another penalty kick for Myers, this one from wide on the left and about 40 yards back, it's tough...

But not tough enough. Another excellent effort. Northants by 20.

A short kickoff this time, and it pays off, scrum to Toulon.Scrum going backwards though and the halfback struggles to clean up near the far touchline. Ferocious rucking by Northants gets the penalty but the ref plays advantage.

A bit of to-ing and fro-ing and Northants get done for coming in from the side. Toulon opt to kick for touch though, they're already chasing the scoreline.

But they stuffup the lineout inside the opposition 22. Northants with the smallball rucking, but they earn the penalty for yet another mysterious reason in the great tradition of rugby.

Bloodbin sub made, bit of bleeding to his noggin. And blimey, the sub scores a try with his first touch of the ball on 31:58. Long throw from the lineout, two passes and over he goes. Time for the ref to consider the mercy rule.

Some messy rucking in the Northants half, they eventual kick into touch and Toulon take a cheeky quick throwin and it pays off with a good linebreak.

Scrum earnt for Toulon on Northant's 30 yard line, they spin it to the left but the centre passes it into his teamates head, scrum to Northampton

Quick lineout to himself, but there was a Northampton player ready. A needless rough tackle around the head after the whistle ends in a penalty to Toulon on the halfway line

messy lineout from 30 yards out. They collect and start some futile rucking. Northants are too strong, they're going nowhere fast.

Aha, there's a gap, but he passes straight to a Northants player and they boot it down the field. Good return by Toulon brings it inside the 22. One-out passing eventually earns a penalty where the reason si kept a strict secret by the ref.

Toulon opt for the kick to touch, second time they've refused a penalty goal. Lineout 5 yards from the try line, but a poor throw and Northants cleanup.

Ball is being knocked around like a gaelic football game, Northants eventually force it out over the far touchline on the stroke of halftime.
Entertaining game, even with the blowout of a scoreline. Toulon are le stuffed.
But not entertaining enough to keep me doing these comms. I'm going to change the channel. You can all sod off.
