Deiniol Jones became the first player to represent the Cardiff Blues in 100 games, having joined the Magners League team following the disbandment of the Celtic Warriors in 2004. He had previously played for Bath, Ebbw Vale and Bridgend, making his Test debut for Wales in 2000 against Samoa. He would have to wait three years for his next cap and four for his next start, on tour against South Africa in 2004. He played two games off the bench during Wales' 2008 Grand Slam and was capped on their tour to north America in 2009. Following an injury to Alun-Wyn Jones in February 2010, he was granted his first Six Nations start against France at the Millennium Stadium.
