Kel Coslett represented Wales at both league and union, making all three of his union appearances in the 1962 Five Nations campaign. His only successful kick was an important one, the only score as Wales beat France 3-0. In the close season he switched codes, joining St Helens where he stayed for 15 seasons, kicking 1639 goals and scoring 45 tries. He went on to coach Wigan and Rochdale.
