Toulon fly-half Jonny Wilkinson spoke of his new mindset after helping his side to a European Challenge Cup victory over the previously unbeaten Saracens at the Stade Mayol.

Wilkinson weighed in with 16 points in the 31-23 win and played with pace and an open mindset, while remaining his usual deadly self with a reliable goal-kicking display. His attention will soon turn to England and their November Test matches, which begin against Australia at Twickenham on November 7.

Wilkinson's form and fitness are good, although a late knock had onlookers on edge before the former Newcastle pivot picked himself up to make a tackle.

"I hope it's something that I can keep going and I can last at," he told Sky Sports of his resurgence. "I'm just enjoying myself and trying to build on my own performances as well. It's a great place to be and it helps with these guys around me."

Wilkinson was committed in defence and produced some trademark tackles, but admitted that he was not quite emulating his 2003 form just yet.

"Maybe I'm just doing it all a bit slower these days!" he said. "All the guys are doing everything they can to help the cause and that's part of what is being produced here, a bunch of guys that want to do well for each other."
