Scotland boss Andy Robinson has named scrum-halves Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter as his joint-captains for their November Tests against Australia, Argentina and Fiji.

The pair are vying for the starting No.9 jersey, with Cusiter's claims re-ignited by a successful switch from Perpignan to Glasgow at the end of last season. Robinson expects whichever scrum-half is on the field to take on the leadership duties.

Off-field the former England coach wants both players to contribute. Blair skippered the side last season despite a dip in form and was a late call-up to the British & Irish Lions tour. Cusiter has 45 caps and led Scotland 'A', coached by Robinson, to the Nations Cup title in 2009.

"Leadership is not about one person, it is about developing a number of leaders," said Robinson. "This year, we're going to have two captains: Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter - two world-class players, two world-class people.

"Whichever one is selected will lead the team. But, off the pitch, the two will lead the team together."
