Tournaments/Tours: Heineken Cup

After a difficult week, Stade Francais return to action with a trip to face Edinburgh at Murrayfield on Saturday. The French aristocrats saw prop David Attoub banned for 70 weeks for gouging this week but will need to be focused on their task as they look to secure safe passage into the Heineken Cup quarter-finals.

They are currently four points clear at the top of Pool 4, but any slip up in Edinburgh could be punished by Ulster should they pick up a bonus-point away at Bath. Hugo Southwell continues at scrum-half for Stade in the injury absence of Noel Oelschig and Charlie Davies and is partnered by Ignacio Mierès.

James Haskell, Mauro Bergamasco and Juan Leguizamon start in the back-row, although Bergamasco's brother, Mirco, must make do with a place on the bench alongside Mathieu Bastareaud, who was this week recalled to the France squad.

Edinburgh are captained by fullback Chris Paterson, and recall wing Mark Robertson, centre Nick De Luca, prop Kyle Traynor, hooker Andrew Kelly, prop Geoff Cross and flanker Ross Rennie to their starting XV. Scotland wing Simon Webster is named in the matchday squad for the first time this season, while Jim Thompson, grandson of late commentator Bill McLaren, starts on the wing.
