Sixways to host Anglo-Welsh Cup Final

  • This season's Anglo-Welsh Cup Final will be played played at Sixways, home of Guinness Premiership club Worcester Warriors, on Sunday, March 21.

    Cardiff Blues, Gloucester Rugby, Northampton Saints and Saracens are all in the hunt for silverware, which offers a Heineken Cup place to an English winner. The Blues will play host to Gloucester at Cardiff City Stadium and the Saints will tackle Saracens at Franklin's Gardens on March 13 with the winners progressing to the final the following weekend. The match will kick off at 3.30pm and be broadcast live by Sky Sports.

  • The International Rugby Board has confirmed that Russia has formally submitted its tender for the right to host Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013.

    The two other bidding Unions, the ConfederaĆ§Ć£o Brasileira de Rugby and the Deutscher Rugby Verband, have confirmed their withdrawal from the process. The IRB will now review in detail the Rugby Union of Russia tender submission and the Host Union for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 will be selected by the IRB Council at its May 2010 meeting.

  • Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp has joined the Sharks on loan until the end of the season. The Emerging Springbok squad member will provide injury cover for Gerhard Mostert and Johan Muller, who picked up injuries in the opening round of Super 14 action.
