Cardiff Rugby Football Club Ltd, the umbrella organisation responsible for the Cardiff Blues Magners League franchise and the Cardiff Principality Premiership side, has been named on a winding up list by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs but have dismissed fears over their financial stability.

The organisation was listed due to an unpaid tax bill but insisted that their appearance was nothing more than a technicality. They were a month in arrears on the tax bill but have reported that the matter was settled on February 1.

"The hearing relates to a tax bill before Christmas but we sorted it out immediately," Blues chief Bob Norster told The Western Mail. "HM Revenue and Customs wrote to us and said there's no case to answer."

The Blues moved to the new Cardiff City Stadium at the beginning of the new season, sharing with Cardiff City FC, who faced a winding up petition in February before an adjournment.
