Bowe scoops Irish Players' award

- Tommy Bowe has been named as Players' Player of the Year by the Irish Rugby Union Players' Association (IRUPA).
The Ospreys winger collected the award for the second time, having also won in 2008, after an excellent season in green following his exploits with the British & Irish Lions in 2009.
"This is the second time I've received this Players' Player award and I'm absolutely thrilled, it's great to be recognised by the other players especially when you're playing overseas," he said.
Connacht wing Fionn Carr took home the award for Young Player of the Year, Jamie Heaslip Supporters' Player of the Year and retiring Leinster fullback Girvan Dempsey was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- Outgoing Newport Gwent Dragons chief executive Gethin Jenkins will take up a similar role with Cardiff City Football Club.
Jenkins, who was with the Dragons for six seasons before announcing his departure, confirmed the move hours before Cardiff booked their place in the Championship play-off final.
"As someone who grew up watching the Bluebirds from the Bob Bank, I am delighted to be joining Cardiff City," he told BBC Sport. "There are fantastic opportunities for this club over the next few years and I am looking forward to working with the directors, players and staff to build on what has already been established both from a business and sport perspective."
- Wasps wing Tom Varndell and Stade Francais flyer Ollie Phillips, the 2009 IRB Sevens Player of the Year , both return to the England Sevens squad to contest the IRB Sevens World Series event at Twickenham, which kicks off on May 22.
- Leeds Carnegie have been given a major boost with the news that former England international Andy Titterrell, 29, has agreed a two year contract with the club.
- Newcastle have signed Coventry prop James Hall on a one-year contract. The 23-year-old is a former England Students international.
