New Zealand will face Australia in the final of the Commonwealth Games Sevens in Delhi.

The reigning champions routed England 33-12 in their semi-final, keeping alive their 12-year unbeaten record at the Games, while Australia's youngsters had too much for South Africa, winning 17-7.

New Zealand's victory was based on an aggressive territory-based gameplan, with All Black back-rower Liam Messam prominent with ball-in-hand. Skipper DJ Forbes scored twice in the first-half to set them on their way before Tomasi Cama's double and Lote Raikabula's second-half score sealed victory. Isoa Damudamu and Dan Caprice notched for England.

James Stannard again starred for Australia with a try while Wallabies wing Lachie Turner and Liam Gill also scored to overhaul Ryno Benjamin's early try for South Africa.

Earlier, England had backed up an unbeaten opening day with a gutsy performance against Samoa in the last eight, Greg Barden scoring their only try in a 7-5 win. A conversion from Ben Gollings was the difference after Alatasi Tupou had gone over from close range to give Samoa the lead.

New Zealand benefited from a second-half surge to avenge their Rugby World Cup Sevens quarter-final loss to Wales in 2009, with former All Black Ben Smith scoring twice along with five-pointers from Kurt Baker, Hosea Gear and Toby Arnold in a 31-10 win.

Australia's 27-5 win over was masterminded by skipper Stannard, who scored twice to see off a dangerous Kenyan side that had produced the upset of the opening day by beating Samoa in Pool play. Shaun Foley, Luke Morahan and Nick Cummins also crossed for the Australians. Scotland were narrowly denied by the Sevens Boks, losing 10-7 to tries from Paul Delport and Ryno Benjamin. Mike Adamson scored for the Scots.
