France centre Yannick Jauzion has admitted that he is desperate to impress in Saturday's pivotal Six Nations showdown with England at Twickenham.

The Toulouse ace did not feature in his country's Championship opener against Scotland and only played eight minutes of the win over Ireland in Dublin a fortnight ago.

However, he has been named in the French midfield alongside Aurelien Rougerie for a game between the two remaining unbeaten sides in this year's tournament. Consequently, Jauzion is determined to make a big impact in this most high-profile of fixtures.

"There is always a huge rivalry between us, especially this year because the English are at their best in all departments," the 32-year-old is quoted as saying on Planet Rugby. "They are a little arrogant before and during matches and that is why we respect them.

"For me this is the chance to properly begin my Six Nations in very difficult circumstances. It is vital to seize a chance when it presents itself. I am focusing on what I can do for the team and bring to it. Of course I need to prove something, but without making it a one-man show."

After seeing off Scotland in scintillating fashion in round one, France struggled to impose themselves in their meeting with Ireland in Dublin and were grateful for the fact that their hosts, who outscored them by three tries to one, proved so ill-disciplined.

France captain Thierry Dusautoir believes that a vast improvement is required from his side if they are to prevail on Saturday as he is anticipating an ever sterner examination of their Grand Slam credentials from on-form England.

"This is the hardest match for us in the Six Nations, much harder than Ireland," the flanker said.
