Glasgow Warriors have tied promising young prop Gordon Reid down to a two-year contract. The 24-year-old loosehead arrives at Firhill from Ayr after making a positive impression whilst training with the Warriors during the season before making his Magners League debut against the Ospreys in March. "We've had a good chance to get to know Gordon over the last few months and there's no doubt that the necessary ability and desire are there for him to progress and do well for this club," Glasgow boss Sean Lineen said. "He's impressed the coaches and the squad not only with the technical aspects of his game, which are all very sound, but with the determination that he has to keep improving as a player. That approach is going to stand him in very good stead as he finds his feet in the professional game, and we'll be giving him all the support he needs to hit the ground running and perform to the level we're very confident he can reach." As for Reid, he is now determined to force his way into the Warriors starting line-up over the next couple of seasons. "I'm delighted to have been given this chance by Glasgow, and I'd like to thank Sean and the other coaches for the faith that they've shown in me," he said. "My task now is to work as hard as I possibly can to prove my worth and make the most of the opportunity." © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
