Glen Jackson's remarkable rise up the IRB match official rankings continues after the former Saracens fly-half was named as the Television Match Official for the Tri-Nations Test between New Zealand and Australia on August 6.

Jackson, who hung up his boots at the end of the 2009-10 season before training as an official, will also act as assistant referee for the Test match between Tonga and Fiji on August 20. Jackson, who also played for Bay of Plenty, the Chiefs and NZ Maori, has already officiated a Super Rugby match having taken charge of the Hurricanes clash with the Western Force on May 27.

Fellow New Zealander Steve Walsh has been chosen to referee the Rugby World Cup warm-up clash between England and Wales at Twickenham on August 6 while Wales' Nigel Owens will take charge of Ireland's meeting with England in Dublin on August 20.

England's Wayne Barnes faces a busy August as he will referee Scotland's match with Ireland on August 6 before taking charge of the final Tri-Nations match, between Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane on August 27.

Kiwi Chris Pollock will take charge of the first Tri-Nations match between Australia and South Africa on July 23, with Ireland's Alain Rolland officiating the next leg between New Zealand and South Africa. South Africa's Craig Joubert will be in charge of New Zealand against Australia on August 6 with New Zealander Bryce Lawrence refereeing South Africa's date with Australia on August 13. Ireland's George Clancy, who is set to referee the opening game at the World Cup, will referee the penultimate Tri-Nations match between South Africa and New Zealand in Port Elizabeth.
