New Zealand head coach Graham Henry and his South African counterpart Peter de Villiers have both made four changes in personnel for this weekend's Tri-Nations encounter in Wellington.

Fly-half Dan Carter will have the chance to overtake Jonny Wilkinson's Test points record after being named in All Blacks' starting XV. After missing last week's demolition of Fiji, Carter replaces Colin Slade in the line-up and will need just two points on Saturday to overhaul Wilkinson's mark of 1,195 points.

Elsewhere, Jerome Kaino comes in at blindside flanker and Cory Jane, who suffered a hand injury in the opening round of the ITM Cup, will play on the wing, while Sam Whitelock also returns. Adam Thomson will start at No.8 for the first time in a New Zealand shirt - he has played there before on four occasions for the All Blacks but from the bench.

Sonny Bill Williams could make his home Test debut after being named on the bench in place of Ben Smith. In Williams' place is the Blues new centre Ma'a nonu, who lines up in the starting XV alongside fellow Hurricanes discard Andrew Hore.

Meanwhile, Gerhard Mostert will make his South Africa debut in the game at the Westpac Stadium. The 26-year-old lock, who earlier this month announced that he will be leaving the Sharks to join Stade Francais, was not a part of the Springboks' original touring party but was drafted into the squad last weekend for the injured Johann Muller.

Mostert has now been thrust into the starting line-up because of the unavailability of another lock, Flip van der Merwe, who has been ruled out with a rib injury sustained in last weekend's 39-20 defeat by Australia. Mostert will be joined in the second row by Alistair Hargreaves, who has recovered from an abdominal strain.

There are three other changes in personnel to the side beaten by the Wallabies in Sydney, with both Jean Deysel and Patrick Lambie set to make their first starts for the Boks. Deysel comes into the side at blindside flanker in a move that sees Danie Rossouw switch to No.8 and Ashley Johnson drop to the bench. Lambie, meanwhile, starts at fullback in place of the injured Gio Aplon.

The final change sees Adi Jacobs preferred to Wynand Olivier in midfield. Juan de Jongh switches to No.12 to accommodate the return of Jacobs.
