Wales centre Gavin Henson hopes to play for his former club Ospreys next season.

Henson is without a club after being released by Toulon at the end of last term and currently with Wales as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Whether Henson is included in Warren Gatland's 30-man World Cup squad or not, the Welshman is eager to seek a return to Liberty Stadium as soon as he is available.

"I want to come back to Wales because of my kids," the 29-year-old told Blokely. "I'm just waiting to see what happens with the Welsh rugby, how I get on and whether I go to the World Cup or not.

"As soon as that comes to an end, whether that's soon or after the World Cup, I will get employment. Hopefully that will be the Ospreys if they will have me back, but I will have to wait and see."

Henson left the Wels region in controversial circumstances last October following an extended break from the game. He joined Saracens in January and then signed a short-term deal with French Top 14 side Toulon, but neither moved woked out leaving him as a free agent.
