Munster have confirmed that Ireland internationals David Wallace and Felix Jones will miss out on the Heineken Cup Pool stages due to injury.

Both players were hurt in Ireland's Rugby World Cup warm-up games, with Wallace suffering a serious knee injury against England and Jones a foot problem in a defeat to France.

There is better news for hooker Jerry Flannery, who could be drafted in after the opening two rounds of Pool play. The 33-year-old is currently out of action with a calf injury sustained in training at the World Cup, but is set to recover in time to play some part in the group games, with injured props Darragh Hurley and Peter Borlase on similar timeframes.

Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray is among the new faces in Munster's Heineken Cup squad, which also includes recent signings Ian Keatley, BJ Botha and Will Chambers, the centre drafted in on a short-term deal from the Queensland Reds. Munster begin their campaign against Northampton in Limerick and also face Castres and the Scarlets in Pool 1.
