Bath lock Dave Attwood has alleviated fears that he suffered a serious neck injury during Bath's defeat to Worcester on Friday night.

The England second-row was carried off with his neck in a brace following a lengthy stoppage midway through the second period and taken to hospital as a precaution.

However he was later released and confirmed that he would be ready to return to training in a few days time.

"Thanks for all the messages. I've been given the ok to go home, a few days off before I get back to running into things with my head again," he wrote on Twitter.

Worcester won the game 16-7 at Sixways with winger Miles Benjamin scoring a great solo try, Joe Carlisle kicking the conversion and two penalties and Andy Goode adding a drop goal.
