Saracens prop Rhys Gill has revealed that he would like to return to Wales next year in order to further his international ambitions.

The 25-year-old loose-head has established himself as one of the best front-rows in the Aviva Premiership since arriving at Vicarage Road from Cardiff in the summer of 2009 but he has thus far made just one appearance for his country.

Consequently, Gill would like to re-sign for the Blues or link up with one of their regional rivals when his contract with Sarries expires at the end of next season.

"I got my cap as a replacement against Ireland in 2010, but I definitely want more," he told the Western Mail. "I love it with Saracens, but I'd like to go back to Wales and a Welsh region when my contract is up next year but we'll have to see what transpires."

Gill also admitted that he feels he has unfinished business with the Blues, believing that he did not get a fair crack of the whip under former boss Dai Young, who is now in charge of London Wasps.

"I was disappointed not to get more chances there, although I think Dai tended to go for experience," said Gill. "He (Young) got capped by Wales as a youngster at prop, so that surprised me a bit.

"I know they had Gethin [Jenkins] and John [Yapp] as loose-heads, but John would often be on the bench despite not having trained all week.

"In fairness to Dai, though, he did say to me 'Go away, get some games under your belt and come back in two years' time.'

"Then I thought I had a deal with the Dragons. They offered me a contract, but a week later they changed their mind and signed Ali McKenzie instead. It was a bit gutting."
