Bath Rugby have bolstered their scrum-half resources with the signing of Warren Fury on a short-term deal.

The half-back has two caps for Wales and joins the West Country side on a three-month contract to provide cover in the scrum-half spot. Fury started his career at Wasps before turning out for both London Irish and Leeds Carnegie and has 42 Premiership appearances to his name. But with doubts surrounding the fitness of Mark McMillan, Fury will vie for the scrum-half spot with former South African international Michael Claassens and promising youngster Chris Cook.

Bath's director of rugby Sir Ian McGeechan said: "With Mark McMillan suffering a relatively long term knee injury, we felt we needed to bring in another scrum-half to give us a bit more depth. Warren has fitted in very well in his short time here so far, and will be a good asset to the squad going forward."

And Bath are set to welcome back Pieter Dixon for their clash with Saracens on Sunday. The hooker has missed the majority of the season through injury but will provide competition with Ross Batty for the front-row spot. Fellow hooker Lee Mears is reportedly going to be back to face Montpellier next weekend while back-row duo Carl Fearns and Lewis Moody have been pencilled in for February returns.
