Fiji have appointed former international Inoke Male as their head coach.

The 15-cap No.8 has been handed a four year contract which will take him up to the 2015 World Cup. The 48-year-old came to rugby late having taken his bow for the national side aged 35 but went onto appear for them in the 1999 World Cup. Male has experience at club level and took the assistant reins at the national side from 2009-10. He also coached Fiji's youngsters in the 2011 Junior World Championship where they finished sixth.

Male replaces Sam Domoni has head coach at Fiji who left his post following a disappointing World Cup which saw them win just once in their Pool. But with Male handed a four-year deal, the Fiji Rugby Union will hope he can utilise their talented crop of players to redeem themselves in 2015.
