England prop David Wilson faces four weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a broken jaw against the Exeter Chiefs.

The Bath tight-head was forced to leave the field late on in the West Country side's 31-3 win over Exeter on Sunday and it has now been confirmed that he sustained a broken jaw. He will undergo the surgeon's knife this week and will have a plate inserted to help aid the recovery.

"He'll have to have an operation on it," director of rugby Sir Ian McGeechan confirmed to the BBC. "It means he can keep training while he's recovering but it's disappointing for him as he's in good form."

Wilson is part of the EPS and has been in contention for a spot in the England side for this Six Nations. But Stuart Lancaster may now call up a replacement to fill the void left by the injured Wilson.
