Wales international Rhys Gill has agreed a new contract with Saracens.

The 25-year-old prop, who has won two caps for Wales, has committed his future to the reigning Aviva Premiership champions after becoming a cornerstone of their scrum in recent seasons. His domestic form led to an international recall against Ireland in the Six Nations opener, having won his first cap during the 2010 Six Nations tournament.

Gill joined Saracens from Cardiff Blues in 2009 and has gone on to make 72 appearances for the club. And he is happy to commit his future to the club despite any ramifications it may have on his prospects at international level.

"Saracens were the club that showed faith in me three years ago, and it follows naturally that I show faith in the club now," Gill said.

Sarries director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Rhys has earned a reputation as one of the most effective loose-head props in the Premiership, and he has richly deserved his recent inclusion in the Wales squad for the Six Nations. Rhys, Steph and the children are an important part of the Saracens family, and we're happy he has extended his contract."

Fellow prop Carlos Nieto has also re-signed with Saracens along with Petrus du Plessis. Matt Stevens, Schalk Brits, Jamie George, Moritz Botha and Owen Farrell have all recently signed new deals with the Premiership champions.
