Clermont Auvergne face an anxious wait over the fitness of their star scrum-half Morgan Parra with the news that he is a doubt to face Saracens in their Heineken Cup quarter-final showdown on Sunday.

The 23-year-old injured his left thigh in their 15-14 loss at Biarritz and coach Vern Cotter has conceded that the 41-cap international is a "doubt" for the match with Sarries.

Cotter said: "It's a muscle injury, which could be a tear. Morgan will have a scan as soon as possible, but he is certainly a doubt for the game against Saracens."

Even if Parra misses the clash then the match will offer up some epic clashes. England duo Brad Barritt and Owen Farrell will face their Six Nations foes Aurelien Rougerie and Wesley Fofana once again, Dave Strettle takes on All Blacks try machine Sitiveni Sivivatu on the wing and last season's Heineken Cup winner with Leinster, Nathan Hines, battles with new England lock Mouritz Botha up front.

And Cotter has earmarked Farrell as one to watch. Cotter said: "I'm anticipating Owen Farrell playing at No 10 against us after his great Six Nations. Brad Barritt is another very good player and it should be a fascinating battle against Rougerie and Fofana."
