Bath have confirmed that first-team coach Martin Haag will follow Sir Ian McGeechan in leaving the club at the end of the season.

A former Bath and England lock, Haag has looked after the Aviva Premiership club's forwards for the past three seasons.

It was announced last week that McGeechan, the club's director of rugby, had been shown the door after a disappointing season, with the search currently underway for a new head coach and backroom team.

Haag was forced to apologise to the club's fans after their most recent defeat, a home thumping by Northampton Saints, with Heineken Cup qualification currently balanced on a knife-edge.

"Haagy has great knowledge of Bath's history and traditions and has been an asset to us for the past three seasons," Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld said. "We'd like to thank him for all his efforts during his time here with us and wish him well for the future."

Brad Davis, the club's defence and skills coach, will remain part of the staff next season.
