Leicester Tigers centre Anthony Allen looks set to end his exile from the international side and get a recall for the summer tour to South Africa.

Allen last played for England back in 2006 when he won two caps. But since then he has found himself on the outskirts of the international set-up. However, after a series of impressive performances for the Tigers, Allen has revealed that England boss Stuart Lancaster has been in touch and has told the centre that he is in the mix for June's outing to South Africa.

"Stuart Lancaster is always looking to pick people who are playing well and on form," Allen told the Leicester Mercury. "He was at the training ground before the Quins game and I had a quick chat with him. He said that he thought I had come back to form quickly and that he was watching me.

"He told me that I was playing well and there was a definite possibility of going on tour. He said it was up to me to get ahead of the other two centres. It was good to hear that from them and to get that communication.

"It will be a full-on tour to South Africa and it will be good to see where the England squad is really at. There is no Saxons tour and they will be playing what is pretty much South Africa A teams in midweek so, with the Tests as well, it will be a very big challenge."
