All Blacks flyer Cory Jane looks set to miss their three-Test series against Ireland after suffering an injury on Friday.

Jane limped off in the 24th minute of the Hurricanes' clash with the Brumbies and scans have revealed that he will miss approximately six weeks of action with a high ankle sprain. The Hurricanes also lost flanker Karl Lowe to injury and the back-row is likely to be out for four to six weeks.

"It is disappointing for both CJ and Lowey to be out with injury but we have been in this situation before and it means the other guys need to step up which they will do," 'Canes coach Mark Hammett told the New Zealand Herald. "Our medical team will monitor the two closely and work with them to get them back on the park when ready."

The news of Jane's injury will come as a blow to All Blacks coach Steve Hansen who named the World Cup winner in his 35-man training squad on Sunday. Hansen is also likely to be without Chiefs centre-come-wing Richard Kahui who dislocated his shoulder against the Reds last weekend.

Their absence may pave the way for either Hosea Gear or Zac Guildford who were both left out of the original party. Crusaders winger Guildford was back on the scoreboard with a sensational score against the Blues on Saturday.
