New Bristol wing Michael Tagicakibau has targeted a Championship title victory after he joined the west-country club from Saracens.

The Fijian played 43 times for Saracens and helped them win the 2011 Aviva Premiership title. Tagicakibau played once for Fiji in the World Cup and has won five caps for the island nation. He is Bristol's eighth signing of the close-season and hopeful of using his experience to help Bristol return to the top-flight for the first time since 2009.

"I'm delighted to be joining Bristol Rugby," he said. "I really enjoyed my time at Saracens, but I was ready for a fresh challenge. I was keen to join a club that matched my ambitions. There's still a lot that I want to achieve in the game and I'm hoping to do it here. Bristol is a club that is clearly progressing - there's a really good environment and everything is in place for a push for the RFU Championship title next year."

Bristol led the RFU Championship for the majority of last season, before they failed to reach the play-off final and were forced to watch London Welsh go up to the Premiership instead. This summer they have also brought in former head coach Dean Ryan on a consultancy basis to help their promotion push.

"I learnt a lot at Saracens and my game has improved during my time there," Tagicakibau said. "I know that the RFU Championship is a hugely competitive league, so I am excited to test myself and hopefully help the team to success."
