The Brumbies have confirmed that Wallaby flanker David Pocock has signed a three-year deal with the Super Rugby franchise.

The 24-year-old revealed his reasons for choosing to leave the Western Force - including the Force's failure to secure big signings and the prospect of working with Brumbies head coach Jake White - in a statement on his Facebook page on Saturday. And the Brumbies have now confirmed the player has signed a three-year deal with the Canberra-based outfit.

Pocock has been first-choice for the Force since breaking into the team as a teenager in 2006 and has won 44 caps for Australia, including the last four as captain. White, the former Springboks coach, is excited about the recruitment of an IRB world player of the year nominee in each of the last two seasons.

"To have a guy like David Pocock want to be involved with the Brumbies is very encouraging," White told the Brumbies website. "The attitude and commitment of Brumbies players in 2012 has been outstanding.

"I've been impressed with the way the boys have taken on pressure and turned it into results. I see David thriving in this environment. He will fit in here perfectly. At the end of the day, we want to make David a better player."

Pocock said: "I'm incredibly thankful to the Emirates Western Force and the people of Perth for the support they have given me over the last seven years. After discussing things with Em we've decided that a move to Canberra and a fresh start with the Brumbies is the best move for us.

"The Brumbies have a good coaching and management team of Jake White, Laurie Fisher, Stephen Larkham, Dean Benton and Tony Thorpe, so the opportunity to learn from them and challenge myself was appealing."
