Wales and British & Irish Lions prop Adam Jones could be out until 2013 as he battles to return to fitness after sustaining a knee injury.

The Ospreys were yesterday rocked by the news that star lock Alun-Wyn Jones is out for four months due to the shoulder injury he suffered against Argentina last Saturday. And they now face further woe with the prognosis regarding Jones' injury.

The tight-head is facing at least six weeks on the sidelines according Ospreys physiotherapist Chris Towers. Towers said: "Although Adam remains unavailable due to the knee injury he re-aggravated in the Leicester match, we are happy with the progress he is making in his rehab.

"In line with the initial rehab plan, he still requires a further six weeks to get him back to the condition required to reach a position where he will be able to return to playing."

The news means that Jones is likely to miss the Ospreys' back-to-back clashes with Toulouse in the Heineken Cup in December.
