It's that time of year again and in what is now surely a tradition to rival the turkey, the tree and all the trimmings, we're delighted to herald the return the ESPNscrum Festive Countdown for your amusement. Once again, we'll be counting down the days until the big one with an assortment of trivia and novelties to brighten your day - sadly, chocolate not included. Goldilocks gets nailed 'Big-hitting boom takes down drag queen' ran a headline earlier this year to accompany this clip of Bath's Olly Barkley taking down a pitch invader during his side's Aviva Premiership defeat to Sale last season. With stewards apparently in no rush to eject the man - wearing a blonde wig and blue dress - a clearly frustrated Barkley - who saw his side slump to a 16-9 loss to the Sharks - took the matter into his own hands and dumped the clown on his backside. A textbook tackle as well as you can see below:

Picture Perfect We've also trawled the archives for some of the best shots of year for your visual pleasure - this one shows the lengths that Wales' Jonathan Davies went to in order to prevent England's David Strettle scoring a try that could have altered the course of this year's Six Nations. England would still have had to make the coversion to earn a draw but there is no denying Davies' heroics were key to their Grand Slam glory.
