Castres forward Ibrahim Diarra has been banned for eight weeks for stamping.

Diarra was found guilty by an independent disciplinary hearing in Dublin of stamping on Moray Low's head during the Heineken Cup clash between Castres and Glasgow Warriors at Stade Pierre-Antoine on Sunday.

The Castres flanker had pleaded not guilty to the offence after being cited by Ireland's Denis Templeton but judicial officer Christopher Quinlan upheld the complaint, viewing it as offence that warranted a nine-week ban.

Diarra's previously clean disciplinary record led to a one-week reduction to eight weeks. The French forward will therefore be suspended until February 11. Both the player and ERC have the right to appeal.
