The Ospreys are trying to do all they can to keep star scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i at the Liberty Stadium but will have to see off the challenge of the Top 14 big spenders.

Fotauli'i starred against Toulouse in Round 4 of the Heineken Cup and following his impressive showing for Samoa during the autumn internationals, is a man in demand. His contract is up at the end of the season, with him originally signing a two-year deal before the 2011 World Cup, and reports in the Welsh press claim that he is on the radar of more than half of the Top 14's clubs.

There is also understood to be interest in the Aviva Premiership for the 30-year-old's services and the Ospreys' chief operations officer Andrew Hore is trying to strike a deal to keep the former Crusader in Swansea.

"Kahn is someone we'd like to keep," Hore told the South Wales Evening Post. "He has shown his quality all season, not just for the Ospreys but also for Samoa in their autumn Tests. He has been exceptional almost every time he has taken the field.

"We want to build on our squad, not see it weakened, so it would be great if Kahn opted to stay. The ball is in his court in that respect. He has been good for us, and we think we have been good for him. He is settled here, has a lot of friends and is thought highly of by everyone at the Ospreys, including our supporters, who know a class player when they see one."
