The Brumbies' Super Rugby championship hopes have taken a blow with news that prop Dan Palmer will miss the rest of the season. Palmer, regarded as one of the best tight-head scrummagers in Australia, has undergone foot surgery to correct an ongoing problem. The surgery effectively ends the one-game Wallabies prop's immediate career with the Brumbies as he has signed a contract to play for French club Grenoble from the end of the year. The Brumbies, who are leading the Sruper Rugby standings and are virtually assured of a berth in the play-offs, now, however, see their rostered prop stocks slip to a dangerously low leavle ahead of their next Super Rugby fixture against Western Force on July 13, with just rookie Ruan Smith and Wallabies squad duo Ben Alexander and Scott Sio fit.
