Former NSW Liberal Party leader Kerry Chikarovski has been appointed to the board of NSW Rugby Union.

Chikarovski had last year been elected to chair the NSW Women's Rugby Union.

Well known for her political career, she retired from politics in 2003 and has since gone on to establish a government relations business, Chikarovski & Associates.

"I am extremely excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity to further promote and develop the game of rugby union in NSW," Chikarovski said.
