Wales and Cardiff Blues lock Bradley Davies has been handed a two-week ban after being found guilty of striking an opponent.

The 26-year-old was originally cited for charging into a ruck during the Blues' RaboDirect PRO12 victory over Connacht at the Arms Park on Friday night. He successfully disputed this charge but was found guilty of a subsequent charge of striking a player.

A three-week ban was then suspended for one week because of his conduct at the hearing and as a result he will miss the Blues' game with Zebre on Friday night and next week's scheduled clash with Leinster.

In related news, Treviso prop Lorenzo Cittadini has been banned for three weeks after being found guilty of striking an opponent during his side's defeat to Scarlets last weekend. The Italian international will be free to play again from October 5.
