All Blacks winger Julian Savea will stay with the Hurricanes for another two years.

Savea announced on Twitter on Friday evening that he had re-signed with the Super Rugby franchise, saying: "Cant wait to join the boys again in 2014 and entertain our fans".

Savea says he's taken time to consider his options and his home province came out on top.

"I grew up in Wellington, I've played all of my rugby here, and it means a lot to be able to call myself a Wellington Lion and Hurricane," he said.

Savea had also been in talks with the Chiefs and the Crusaders.
