Italy and Wasps rocked by Andrea Masi blow

London Wasps will be without the services of Italian centre Andrea Masi for between four and five months due to a knee injury.

Masi has undergone surgery after suffering a complete tear of his MCL and a partial tear of the PCL. Wasps say he will be out of action for between 16 and 20 weeks. Wasps have already acted quickly to cover Masi's absence bringing in Andrea Suniula and Viliami Helu.

The news will also come as a huge blow for Italy as Masi, who has 80 caps, will miss their autumn Test programme which sees them come up against Australia, Fiji and Argentina.
