Gloucester have handed a season-long suspension to the supporter who threw a beer over Elliot Daly during Saturday's Aviva Premiership match.

Video footage emerged on the internet of Daly sliding over the deadball line at Kingsholm and a supporter then emptying his pint over the Wasps' back. Gloucester called for information from the public in attempting to track down the individual and the club have now confirmed that he handed himself in.

"He was full of remorse and apologised profusely for his actions," Gloucester said. "He has promised to write letters of apology to both the club and also to Elliot Daly.

"As a result of his actions, he has been banned from attending matches at Kingsholm until the first Premiership match in 2014-15. He has also been warned that any future transgression will result in a life ban."

The news comes a day after ESPNscrum highlighted the transgression which was endorsed by Gloucester City Police.
