Richard de Carpentier cleared of gouging

Worcester backrow forward Richard de Carpentier has been cleared by an RFU panel of making contact with the eyes or eye area of Northampton's Calum Clark.

He was found not guilty of the charge which was brought after an incident when he clashed with Northampton's Callum Clark during Worcester's 33-10 Aviva Premiership defeat at the weekend.

"Richard de Carpentier is free to play on after the citing case against him was dismissed by a disciplinary hearing tonight," an RFU spokesman said on Wednesday night.
