Perpignan have complained to European Rugby Cup Ltd about Greg Garner's refereeing of their heavy loss to Munster on Sunday.

Perpignan were on the wrong end of a 36-8 defeat at Thomond Park but their president Francois Rivière feels one of the main reasons behind their loss was the performance of the referee. He confirmed to L'Independant he has sent a "firm letter of complaint".

"I cannot remain inactive in the face of such injustice," Rivière said. "Between the Guitoune try which was denied, the penalty try and the 14 to four the penalty count against us, it is my duty to do something. It is not acceptable to let this go. "

Perpignan will be without fly-half Camille Lopez for this weekend's return leg as he is out for between six to eight weeks.
