Harlequins boss Conor O'Shea has insisted there was "nothing" in the eye-gouging claims made against his side in the wake of their Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final win over Stade Francais on Friday.

Stade Francais captain Laurent Sempere claimed he was gouged in the first-half and the incident was referred to the TMO. No action was taken but Sempere was steadfast in his claims post-match.

"Many decisions didn't go our way including the gouging that was right in front of the referee," Sempere told the Daily Telegraph. "I don't know why he went to the video official because he saw everything."

When asked about the incident, Quins boss O'Shea dismissed any allegations of foul play.

"It's easy to claim things when you make mistakes or drop the ball," O'Shea said. "You can say things like that and they become etched in everyone's minds but there was nothing in it. There was a lot of appealing and imploring from the sidelines throughout the game.

"We don't condone foul play and these things have to be followed up. But we were tough, physical and precise and we wore them down in the end."
