Scotland 21-18 Italy

Scotland have secured a 21-18 win over Italy in a tight contest that saw the Italian captain Filippo Buscema miss a penalty to put the game into extra time. Taking an early lead, Italy kept Scotland pointless in the first half and crossed for a try heading into the second half with an 11-point lead. A second half fight back from Scotland saw the side cross over for three tries and take the lead while Italy stayed tight in the match with a second try for the match.

Australia 53-16 Samoa

Australia displayed a masterclass as they demolished Samoa 53-16, with Australian wing Andrew Kellaway scoring a first-half hat-trick and then crossing over again in the second half to equal the Junior World Championship record for most tries in a match. Samoa started strong with an early penalty but it was all Australia's way for the rest of the half, as they crashed over for four tries before Samoa converted a second penalty to head into the second stanza 29-6.

Australia continued to outplay and outclass Samoa throughout the second half with another four tries, but a final ten-minute fight back saw Samoa cross for two tries to bring some respectability to their scoreline.

Argentina 38-12 Fiji

Argentina have dominated Fiji 38-12 in the ninth place final in Auckland. Argentina held almost all of the possession and field position in the first half, with the side camped inside Fiji's half for most of the half. Argentina were rewarded for their strong scrum with a penalty try and were soon over the line for a second try heading into the break 21-0.

Argentina continued to dominate possession in the second half and continued to build their lead with another three tries, but Fiji fought back in the last quarter to cross for two tries to bring some respectability to their score.
