Saracens are set to bolster their American contingent with the signing of Thretton Palamo.

Palamo took part in the end-of-season rugby combine in Minnesota, an event which featured those who missed out on the NFL draft and fancied a turn at rugby. He caught the eye of Saracens and although he did not leap at their original offer, as he wanted to finish his studies at Utah University, Palamo has signed a short-term deal with the Aviva Premiership runners-up according to Sky Sports.

Palamo, who can play in the centres or on the wing, will arrive at Saracens on a three-month trial and will join their burgeoning American contingent with Chris Wyles, Hayden Smith and Titi Lamositele already at the club.

He will be joined at Saracens by six players from the club's global network. In what is termed their 'Global Network Player Pathway', Alex Johns (KL Saracens), Xavier Bauwmans (Abu Dhabi Saracens), Linar Sattarov (Moscow Saracens), Gabriel Paganini (Sao Paulo Saracens), Sammy Oliech (Nairobi Saracens) and Ian Minjire (Nairobi Saracens) will all take part in some of the club's pre-season programme.
