Out-of-contract Wales prop Adam Jones has said that he wants to stay at the Ospreys despite his deal not being renewed when it expired at the end of the season.

Jones has been left in limbo as a result of the ongoing row between the Wales board and the regions which has meant that a new participation agreement, which would enable clubs to nail down their finances, has yet to be signed.

He has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs, but he said he wanted to wait to see what happens before making any decisions.

"My number one choice has always been the Ospreys," he told the South Wales Evening Post. "They are my home region and where I have played my rugby for the past 11 years. I know the coaches and the players and nothing would please me more than to sort out a deal with them.

"It has been a tough time, the most difficult year of my career, but I don't feel let down by anyone. The Ospreys have been up front and said there's a contract there to be signed if the new participation agreement with the WRU is finalised.

"But I want to make clear it hasn't been me who has been stalling over a new contract at the Ospreys. If I had my way this would have all been sorted out months ago. Circumstances just haven't allowed. I just want things settled so I can play some rugby."
