Leicester Tigers have parted company with backs coach Paul Burke.

Burke took on the role in the wake of Matt O'Connor's departure as head coach to Leinster ahead of the 2013-14 campaign but after a poor start to the current season, the Tigers have opted to shuffle their backroom staff. Burke leaves having originally joined the club's backroom staff in 2008 having served previously as a player.

"Paul has been a good servant to the club and was very much liked by players and staff, first as an experienced member of the squad and then as part of the coaching team, initially under Heyneke Meyer and then Richard Cockerill," Leicester executive chairman Peter Tom said. "We are grateful for Paul's hard work on behalf of the club over the last eight-and-a-half years and we wish him well for the future."

The move comes in the wake of the Tigers' 15-3 loss to the Scarlets at the weekend and a season which has seen them fall to three defeats. The BBC claims Geordan Murphy and Phil Blake will take over the role on an interim basis.
